Apple Airpods - more than earphones

Using AirPods for the first time

First, turn on your Bluetooth. Without Bluetooth, the earbuds cannot connect to your iPhone. By opening the case near your iPhone, your iPhone automatically detects the new AirPods. A small white screen will appear on your iPhone asking if you want to connect the AirPods. This is how you essentially set up your AirPods.

Different types of AirPods

Apple has released two types of AirPods: the ‘regular’ AirPods and the AirPods Pro. The regular version is similar to the earbuds that Apple used to include with a new iPhone or iPad. The AirPods Pro are an ‘in-ear’ version. These earbuds go deeper into your ear canal and also feature noise-canceling. If you prefer ‘in-ear’ earbuds, the Pro version is a better choice. However, you will pay over a hundred euros more for the Pros. The regular AirPods have almost the same features as the AirPods Pro, but they are much more affordable!

Concerns? They won’t fall out of your ears, and the battery lasts a long time!

People who hesitate about buying AirPods often wonder if the earbuds will stay in their ears. They are, of course, expensive, and it would be a shame if you accidentally lost one. Surprisingly, AirPods stay in your ears very well. Even while exercising, the earbuds don’t fall out. It sounds odd, but this is because there’s no cord attached. Without realizing it, the cord can tug at your earbuds. Especially when running, the cord can sometimes cause them to fall out of your ears.

A big advantage of wired earbuds is that you don’t have to charge them. Sitting on the train with dead earbuds is nobody’s idea of fun. Luckily, the AirPods charge in the case, which you can easily store them in. By charging the AirPods for five minutes, you can listen for another hour. The case has enough power for 24 hours of listening. You won't run out of battery in a day ;).

In just a few taps: Music, calls, and FaceTime

Besides listening to music with the AirPods, you can do even more! The AirPods have built-in microphones, allowing you to make calls or FaceTime, for example. Ideal when you want to make a call while cycling or when your phone is charging.

When you get a call, you can easily answer it by physically tapping on your AirPods. Hanging up works the same way. In your settings, you can set additional commands for tapping your AirPods. For example, you can activate Siri by double-tapping your left earbud, or skip to the next song by double-tapping your right earbud. What function the taps should have? That's up to you! You can set this in Settings -> Bluetooth and then press the ‘i’ icon next to your AirPods.

Handy AirPods tips

  • Automatic pause
When you take one earbud out of your ear, your music automatically pauses.
  • Battery status: How much battery do my earbuds have left?
You can easily check this by opening the case and holding it next to your iPhone. A small animation will appear on your screen, showing you exactly how much battery is left. You can also add the battery widget to your iPhone’s home screen, so you can always see at a glance how much battery your AirPods have.
  • Hands-free calling
Need to make a call while biking or driving? No problem, with AirPods, you can easily make hands-free calls.
  • Indicator light
In the charging case, there’s a small LED light that gives useful indications with different colors. A green light means your AirPods are fully charged, and orange means they’re charging. When you take the AirPods out of the case, a green light means the case still has enough power to fully charge your AirPods, while an orange light means you need to charge the case. A white flashing light indicates that the earbuds are in ‘pairing’ mode, so you can connect them to another device.
AirPods work best with Apple products. The wireless earbuds also work fantastically with our range of refurbished iPhones!
